The LCR Honda MotoGP team (Lucio Cecchinello Racing) is a Monaco-based independent motorcycle racing team competing in the premier MotoGP World Championship as a satellite team for Honda. Founded in 1996 by Italian former Grand Prix rider Lucio Cecchinello, the team operates two distinct entries: the Castrol Honda LCR and the Idemitsu Honda LCR, reflecting different title sponsors.   Team Profile   Founder & Team Principal: The team is led by its founder, Lucio Cecchinello, a former racer with seven Grand Prix victories. MotoGP History: LCR moved to the premier MotoGP class in 2006 and has since lined up talented riders such as Casey Stoner, Cal Crutchlow, and Johann Zarco. Achievements: Across all categories (125cc, 250cc, and MotoGP), the team has accumulated over 31 victories and 100 podium finishes. Current Riders (2025 season): For the 2025 season, the team fields Frenchman Johann Zarco and Thai rider Somkiat Chantra (who won the 2025 Moto2 title) on Honda RC213V bikes. MotoE Involvement: Since 2019, LCR has also competed in the FIM MotoE World Cup (electric bikes championship) with its LCR E-Team division.
